Does your broker...

I actually see many brokers running Facebook pages. They usually launch some contests there. I can hardly imagine why would anyone want to follow those pages except for getting some bonus or participating in a contest.

True, I would like if the broker that going to have a contest, they share it with the registrant by sending an email to let them open from a link into the page where they inform a contest. I'm afraid with the broker that try to post via Facebook might turn into a scam.

I would have to disagree. Brokers use FB in addition to other outlets to interact with their clients.

thanks I'm newbie here and wanna to clarify some simple things for me. What you recommend instead of FB to communicate with?

I'm newbie here. Could you clearly tell what does mean FB? Thanks in advance.

FB - Facebook and to answer LB's query: Yeah most of my brokers do host FB pages and some even put up competitions and offers. But have to agree with others, FB is not the best channel for promos or even for opening discussions/chats..

Broker uses FB to attract more clients, to advertise own company, just to be visible. As for me, it is absolutely normal. I follow my brokers FB page just to keep up.

Makes more sense but overall, there has to be a more effective way to get your point across. And while we are at it, a bit wary about the many likes up on FB

Facebook is a good place for advertising any event, content, offers to trader for a broker.
But Facebook would get down the broker's professional. Actually I don't know my broker whether has a fan page or no.

Yes my Broker have a Facebook page and they have it in many different languages so that each one can get their own updates with Market news 🙂

Well, just checked my broker's FB pages, all the three, Trader's Way, FXCM and Alpari seem to be into posting analysis which is a good thing. At least, they are not into cramming the FB pages with sales pitches.
And yes, FB does provide that option..

I am not sure if my broker have a facebook fan page. I use Profiforex and I think I have to find out if they have a page. I would gladly follow if they do. You know its one way to get the latest updates.

I have tried searching on Facebook and I found Hotforex fan page, I think my broker has a fan page. But I think got update email daily was enough to catch the new offers from broker.

Well, I use the FB only to check for updates, analysis, etc..anything that can give me a edge over the market movements for the next few hrs..
But on the email option, rather prefer FB to email..

I used Facebook as common users, update friends news and enjoy girl pics. haha

IMO, FB is not a good way to discuss Forex.

in general its called social media marketing, its not a bad thing to use fb or twitter or any other social media even youtube, its a way to spread the word and on the other hand keep thetraders updated, with news maybe, analysis events, even issues if a broker has one, and how would they react to it, I dont think its a bad thing, its a double edged blade, that works both ways for the broker and the trader, some of us are not into facebook, some of us are more of a twitter users, or even instagram (come to think of it i might as well check with insta if there are active brokers there LOL)
