Do you know what's the source of the data for this pie chart? It seem to contradict the BIS data.
It's from FXSSI.
I looked up BIS. The last survey was from 2019, wasn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I also found 2020 Statista survey https://www.statista.com/statistics/1203453/most-traded-currency-pairs/

Yes, the BIS survey is from 2019. The next one will be released this month.
Interestingly, they cite BIS 2020 data as a source, but I cannot find any such data on BIS website.
2020 was indeed a wild year. Many interruptions, political events, and volatile market condition...
On second thought, I think BIS does collect data annually. But official survey is only released every 3 year period (Triennial).
Big site such as Statista can probably make purchase from BIS data vendor...
