Ways to find good providers:
Look for providers that trade from a live account (green or blue $ next to their profile)
Have low DD in pips (around 500-800)
40+ average pips/trade
3-4 hours average trade time
Trading for more than 10 weeks
Trade no more than 3 currency pairs
And remember to first test everything on a demo before moving to a live

how do you translate this DD into percent of account balance?
I have an account that can't stand a 500-800 pips loss as it is more than 50% of my account and for me that is not acceptable.

It depends what lot size you use. In a micro account 500-800pips is $50-80, but as I said this is the DD for all orders in total. The best is to look at the worst trade statistic and max open orders. You can look for a -150pips worst trade and allow only 1-2max open positions for the provider.

zulu changed their ranking system and added a new feature called zulutrade alchemy, where you can copy the providers & settings of another live account!

I ve looked into the alchemy feature more:
You can view another live account's provider portfolio and copy it, along with the exact settings, to your live or demo account. I think this has great potential!

I wanted to make a note to the ones that use the alchemy:
Be careful with your lot size settings when you copy another live account's settings to your own. Check the margin meter to be around 30%, depending on the risk you are willing to take

New search options are now available so you can filter providers by currency, max DD, average pips/trade, %win ratio, best or worst trade etc. Multiple selections can be done!

Dont forget that with the new advanced search filters you can limit the risk of your account
Choose providers with low DD, at least 15 weeks trading, low worst trade (around 300) and trade from a live account!

Use the following filters with advanced search to find good providers:
-max %DD 40%
-max DD in pips 3000
-at least 20 weeks trading
-10 average pips/trade
-max open trades 10

Zulutrade has finally dealt with the ghost trades problem! All of them have been removed and the ranking has adjusted and is now better!

The advantage of aaafx over other zulutrade brokers is that you dont pay any commissions

For all tech freaks using zulu, I got an email today saying that the zulu application is now available for the iPad!

Ive contacted zulutrade to ask them which offshore zulutrade brokers accept US accounts
They replied that currently only 3

Dont forget that if you are having a hard time finding a good provider portfolio, you can use the alchemy to copy the portfolio of a successful live account!

Another update for zulu!
They have updated the alchemy to show each live followers balance (in range), so now we users have an idea about the follower and adjust our lot sizes accordingly
