Well, tried to use that EA. Can tell you right away it was done by programmers, not traders. Cumbersome, too many useless options, confusing to use. Compare it with the other tools - a freely available order_graphic_tool_V5 or now removed Complete Order Entry, which was simply amazing. I understand that it took a lot of time and effort to produce your EA but unfortunately you picked the wrong direction from the very start.

Switched back to order_graphic_tool_V5.

Did you follow this tutorial?

There is no video tutorial for macOS made by us, but if you google for a macOS tutorial, you will find some Position Sizer tutorials made by traders who installed it on Mac.

Yes, this is the one I have been trying to do but literally not sure if I am even doing the 2.step right.. I checked youtube and google but the stuff on there seems to be a little out dated. Not sure what I am supposed to do at this point really :(

Then You don't need to be here mate. It's the thread for those who use this tool and need help on that. Every trader have their own opinion. Like wise you have yours.
No need to be that harsh. I welcome any critique of our tools. It's also good to know about the existence of other similar tools. If a trader prefers another tool to the Position Sizer, I'd prefer to know that and try to learn something from that.

Step 2 is to drag the files to MetaEditor. If the file opens in MetaEditor, then you are doing it right.

Do i drag them onto the 'grey area' on MetaEditor (all of the required files) and THEN hit File>Save as? I don't know where would be logical to save them too. Wish there was some sort of online support, sorry for being so uneducated on this issue. This is how it looks after doing the Step 2. Is this correct?Screenshot 2024-01-03 at 12.44.34.png

Yes, they are opening just fine. You should be saving them where the MetaEditor offers you to save them, but make sure you navigate to Experts subfolder if it offers you to save them to MQL5.

Enivid, sure, that is the right approach if you ever want to achieve anything. To help you, here is a brief comparison of your tool working sequence and the one I am using now, order-graphic-tool:

With your tool you have to 1 - press the button to make it visible, 2 - press another button to tell it if you are selling or buying, 3 - press another button to select market order or pending, then press H to make the lines visible and then click each of them to make them draggable because half of the time they opened not selected for me. Plus to that, the lines open anywhere on the screen so you have to search for them.

With order-graphic-tool you only need to press one button B for buy or S for sell and everything opens right away. The lines will open where your mouse is and ready to be dragged so you don't have to look for them. Market order or pending is determined automatically, you don't do anything for that. If all you need is to estimate the size of your trade, which one would you use?

Not to mention the Complete Order Entry tool that I also mentioned above, this one was just amazing - a small non-intrusive box which did not even have to be hidden and answered all the questions without even clicking anything. All you needed to do was to drag the lines and press the trade button. It is not available any more, unfortunately.

More complex does not mean better.

I am just helping you, I don't need anything from you! Who knows - maybe you will streamline your tool and make it nice and easy so I would start using it and benefited then.

The way I have PS set up, it opens on the default template.

  • It opens with the correct, predefined risk.
  • I place the mouse where I want the stop loss and press 'S'.
  • I put the mouse where I want TP and press 'T'.
  • I press shift-T to place the order.

Simple as that. But it can be set-up to work hundreds of different ways.

It sounds as if you have not taken the time to understand how to set it up properly.

Also it sounds as if you are moving from your preferred software to a completely new one and expecting it to be the same.

Is it possible to add shortcut to set BreakEven and partial close option? like you want to close 50% of trade.. all you do is press shortcut and it closes half (Or whatever percentage you select in settings). That would be awesome, please. Thanks.

hi

no matter what i do i can not get the tool to appear on the chart and i have gone through all of the steps over and over again.
All of the files that i have downloaded are located in the expert file, i have tried config on the editor tool and it just throws up all the errors in the world as you can see in the pictures i have included.

i don't really understand what the issue can be as i did this exact process on my old laptop and it was a windows 8 and worked fine i am on windows 10 at the moment but i don't think it makes any difference???

i download the file unzip it all to the correct file location and have it in its own file inside the expert folder and have also tried having all the files open in the expert folder with out being in a subfolder but what doesn't seem to make any difference.

tried for hours to get this to work and have looked for solutions online but nothing. please help

Thank you

There is no way to close partials, but there is a way to divide the trade into multiple positions when opening. That way, you can use different TPs on each of the parts.

It looks like your MT4 installation is missing the standard library files. You can re-install it, install a new instance of MT4, or copy the Include folder over from other MT4 installation to solve this.
